LIV Sotheby’s International Realty (LIV SIR) is dedicated to supporting the people and communities that make Colorado an amazing place, and that commitment reaches far beyond offering expert real estate advice. Together, through small acts of service, we can make a big difference. Here is a snapshot of some of the incredible events and initiatives our brokers proudly backed in recent months.
Scott Bernard – Foresight
Foresight Adventure Guides for the Blind hosted their Annual Pancake Breakfast at Beaver Creek Resort to raise awareness and funds that help them provide world-class adaptive experiences for people with blindness or low vision. These experiences can include Vail ski days, summer camps, and more. Foresight transcends personal, societal, attitudinal, and physical barriers for those experiencing vision loss.
In attendance was blind outdoor adventurer, Erik Weihenmayer, who was the first blind person to summit Mt. Everest in 2001. He climbed Carstensz Pyramid on the island of Papua New Guinea in 2008, completing the Seven Summits (the highest point on every continent,) making him one of only 150 mountaineers to have accomplished this feat. In 1995, Weihenmayer started his journey by ascending Denali in North America.

Ron I Martinez – Sean “Ranch” Lough Foundation
CSU President’s Dinner
In honor of the foundation’s contributions to CSU for over 20 years, President Amy Parsons recently hosted Sean “Ranch” Lough Foundation’s (SRLF) current and former scholarship recipients, founders, including Martinez, sponsors, and supporters for dinner on campus at the home of the President in April. The scholarship recipients talked about how the foundation has changed their lives and how without the financial burden of college being removed, attending a university would not be possible.

Denver Derby Party
Known as “a party with a purpose,” the Denver Derby Party was started from humble beginnings to become what is now the largest derby party west of the Mississippi. Hosted by the SRLF, the party raises money to provide four-year full-ride scholarships to Colorado State University (CSU). Local high school seniors can apply for one of the scholarships, which have helped students from around the world achieve their dreams of attending college.
This year’s Denver Derby Party took place May 4th at MacGregor Square in Denver, and welcomed over 3,000 guests from all over the world, including many LIV SIR brokers and support staff. Over the years, the party has raised $7.5 million, sold 152,000 tickets, and given out over 60 scholarships. 100% of all proceeds are used to fund the SRLF.
The atmosphere was electric with party guests in their derby attire, including eclectic hats for those competing in the hat decorating contest. There were several photo opportunities, sponsor booths, food, and live music. After the race, crowd-pleasing DJ Blake Horstmann of Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette, had the crowd on their feet.
