Fall is a glorious time in Colorado with the golden aspen leaves blanketing the mountains, crisp air, cozy sweaters, and the anticipation of a fabulous football season ahead. Fall flavors are everywhere from pumpkin spiced lattes in neighborhood cafes to pumpkin picking and leaf-peeping adventures. Here’s your guide to fall activities across Colorado’s neighborhoods, each with a delicious twist.

Denver – Highlands and RiNo
Start your fall stroll in the Highlands, where local coffee shops like Hello Darling and Little Owl are steeping London Fog and yam lattes that pair perfectly with a morning walk.
Just a few miles east, the RiNo Art District gets festive with fall pumpkin beer releases from Ratio Beerworks. Enjoy craft cocktails at Death & Co., such as the Golden Lancehead, infusing rum, pear, aloe vera, and green chartreuse. Don’t miss The Denver Central Market, where vendors offer seasonal options, tapping into the fall flavors and embracing the season.

Local Tip: Wander the alleyways between Larimer and Walnut Streets and Blake and Larimer Streets to take in the murals and street art the area is famous for.
Boulder – Mapleton Hill and Pearl Street Charm
Boulder in the fall is like stepping into a postcard. Head to the historic Mapleton Hill neighborhood for a leisurely walk among century-old trees as they take on the amber and gold colors of fall. Then, swing down to Pearl Street Mall, where the seasonal flavors shine. Choose a self-guided trail for food, beverage and shopping spots such as The Sweets Trail which includes Gelato Boy featuring gelato made from scratch with seasonal ingredients.
Boxcar Coffee Roasters announces its seasonal offerings in September. Previous years have included sweater weather cider, and pumpkin spice made with real spices and pumpkin topped with grated nutmeg. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Boulder Farmers Market becomes a fall foodie paradise with seasonal produce. Currently, summer and fall produce are sharing space at the market, including red peppers, sweet corn, pears, Italian eggplant, and even watermelon. The market is open through October 8th.

Local Tip: Stop by the Peppercorn, a local shop with a selection of imported food, hard-to-find kitchen gadgets, and a large library of books.
Lafayette and Longmont
Walk Old Town Lafayette to take in the creative, diverse, and eclectic atmosphere of this charming Colorado town. Host to Art on the Street, a sculpture on loan program featuring 21 new sculptures located along Public Road and E. Simpson Street on display through April 2026.

Fort Collins
Northern Colorado’s Fort Collins looks like a Hallmark movie set in autumn. Take a stroll down Jackson Street in the City Park neighborhood for historic charm, while Mulberry Street will fulfill your mid-century modern dreams. Bordering the largest park in Fort Collins, recreation abounds while Old Town shopping and dining is just two miles away.

Local café Little Bird Bakeshop offers seasonal pies, cakes and pastries. Menu items change with the weather, or “whim of our pastry chef.” Light breakfast and lunch are also offered in this brick-walled café. Grab a pastry and a coffee before heading out on your walk through City Park.
Local Tip: Go up Poudre Canyon to The Mishawaka restaurant for a front row seat to the fall foliage.
Colorado Springs
Tucked at the foot of Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs offers a quieter, yet just as flavorful, fall experience. The Broadmoor area is located at the base of the scenic Cheyenne Mountain Range. Stroll around the lake or take a scenic hike through North Cheyenne Cañon Park to see the changing leaves in all their glory.
