Our state is committed to 100% net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

By shifting from fossil fuel — such as coal, oil, and gas — to clean energy such as wind, solar, and geothermal. Next, addressing changes that are already occurring in the environment and preparing for potential impacts in the future. One of the hallmark events of Earth Month in Colorado is the annual Earth Day celebration, which brings together people from all areas to celebrate the planet and advocate for environmental stewardship. Throughout the month of April and into May, communities across the state host a myriad of events, including tree plantings, such as the 2024 Arbor Day Festival in Superior on April 27. Clean-up activities, such as the 2024 Community Pride Highway Cleanup hosted by Eagle River Coalition on May 4.

The 2024 snowpack put the Centennial state in a good position.
According to The Denver Post, “The statewide snowpack sat at 109% of the 30-year median on Wednesday [April 3], just a few days shy of the normal peak of snowpack for the state. Every major river basin in the state also recorded above-median snowpack, reducing the risk of large, uncontrollable wildfires, and boosting the state’s water supplies.”
