In Central City, a town once known as the “richest square mile on earth,” the opera is a rare gem that only grows more brilliant.
Located just off I-70 west, less than an hour from Denver, the Central City Opera has drawn patrons for more than 100 years.
Built in 1878, the opera house is a National Historic Landmark and home to the fifth oldest opera company in the United States. This time-honored venue has welcomed a grand chorus of performers through the years, including Lillian Gish and Beverly Sills. Many performed at the opera’s signature annual summer festival.
With a title like, “Romance, Redemption and Singing Nuns,” patrons of the 2014 summer festival are sure to enjoy both classic and dramatically diverse performances, now through Aug. 10.
Don’t Miss:
The story of love and clashing social classes.
Spiritual questions and redemption on death row.
A jazzy, witty, one-act visit to 1950s suburbia.
The beloved story and soaring music.
All performances are in Central City except The Sound of Music, which will be held at Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver. For more information: www.centralcityopera.org. Please use promo code ‘INSIDE’ to receive your exclusive Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty discount of 25%.
